BEST BBQ JOINT IN SYRACUSE
by dastone9
Anyone who doesn't like this place is nuts. The food here is amazing, the atmosphere is great, and the service is fun and friendly. I've eaten here a number of times getting everything from Burgers, Ribs, Chicken, sandwiches, and more. Their Philly Cheese steak is phenomenal. Their Pulled Pork sandwich is so tender and juicy it makes my mouth water just thinking of it. All of their meals come with 2 sides, and the choices are fantastic. Their Pasta and Potato Salads are some of the best I've ever tasted, as is their Jalapeno Cornbread. The Chili they have is another big winner. Spicy, tasty, and so full of flavor it will knock you over. Honestly, you really can't go wrong with anything from the menu.
Also, just for a reference, their food is VERY reasonably priced with their most expensive dish only costing 13 dollars. And the portions! You can get a HALF chicken and quarter-rack of ribs and 2 sides for 13 bucks. You can get a HUGE sandwich and 2 sides for 7-8 bucks. And then the drinks! Great beers on tap (Guinness, Saranac, Yuengling, etc etc...), and 2 for 1 margharitas at all times. They AREN'T too sweet... at least they never have been when I've been there.
I'd rate this as the BEST BBQ joint in Syracuse, alongside Dinosaur BBQ. Try it for yourself and don't be biased based on 1 bad review.
- Pros: Great Service, Amazing Food, Fun Atmosphere
- Cons: very small and can get crowded around dinner time
The Worst barbecue in Syracuse
by BiggHobbit
This is the worst Barbecue restaurant I have ever been to. I had an order of ribs that had very little flavor to them and no BBQ sauce was offered for them. My wife had smoked wings and they too suffered from a lack of sauce. The side dishes, with one exception, sucked. The Jalapeno corn bread was the only good thing that I had. The baked beans appeared to be nothing more than a can of Bush's beans. The Roasted corn was canned corn baked until a few kernels got crispy. The Margaritas were so sweet that I could very well imagine a little kid taking the left overs from his/her lemonade stand and pouting a little (and I do mean a little) tequila into it.
Save yourself some money if you ever feel tempted to go to this place for barbecue - go to McDonalds and buy a McRIb. It will taste better and cost you less.
- Cons: Terrible Food and Drinks - Terrible Service
I love this bar!!!
by lafleur39
I have to say, this bar is just like the song, its my kind of place. My friends and I frequent this bar on an almost weekly basis and it is fantastic. This bar used to be a chain restaurant and the owner Chuck has done a wonderful job disguising that fact. The decor is South-West cheesy and it works great. I have been to just about every bar in Syracuse and if you are looking for a hometown (and non-scuzzy) bar, the Limp Lizard is it. The patrons are a variety of people, from bikers to men in business suits to small children. They do catering, which is wonderful during the summer parties, especially because all the food is wonderful. The chef does a great job cooking all the food to your liking and I especially recommend any flavor of chicken wings that they offer. The atmosphere is cozy and warm and the music is bluesy/country. The staff is attentive and courteous even though its always a busy place. The live band's that they host on the weekends are talented and the music adds to the wonderful atmosphere. It is a welcome addition to a town full of, shall I say "over-rated" Irish bars. Thanks for doing all the great work guys!!
