Tips for Liz Lanza's Salon & Day Spa

Disappointed Again. It's really unfortunate that it has come to the point at which I have to write this review. I have been a long standing client of Liz Lanza's, visiting the salon on a monthly basis for over 20 years. I have been going to a wonderful stylist, incredible aestetician, and fabulous massage therapist and unfortunately a very disappointing nail technician. The salon is fantastic, very professional and very clean. I've been struggling with the idea of leaving, but only because of my nail technician. It seems her needs come before her clients. I always feel like I am rushed, example: I sat down in the pedicure chair being followed immediately by two other clients getting pedi's at the same time. My tech started me 10 minutes after the other 2 clients had gotten started and finished my pedi 15 minutes before they were done. I pay for a hour long pedicure. I hear other clients talk about how much they love the shellac system and the longevity of the manicure and yet mine only last a few days and start peeling. I've had it done on vacation and they last me 2 weeks. I have expressed my concerns with the nail tech and she always seems to be on the defense! She makes excuses and steers the fault back to me. She has called me numerous times (and I mean numerous) to change my appointments to the point of aggravation. I have sat in the chair drying while she leaves me to get ready to go to the gym. I understand she is self employed, but I think it is terribly unprofessional to rush through a service and out the door while the client is still in her chair. I have actually tried to go to another tech but she has literally gone into the appointment book and change me back to her column. If I am in somebody else's column - leave me there! There is a reason for it. I can't imagine I am the only one who feels this way, I spend thousands of dollars a year and deserve professionalism. Like I said , I truly didn't want to write this review but I feel like I had no other choice. She just doesn't seem to get it. Maybe the salon isn't the right place of employment for her- maybe she should get a job at a gym, a place where she feels more at home. I really don't want to leave, and I imagine the other staff members I go to would not be pleased. Like I said- LOVE the salon, just disappointed with my nail tech.

Talent arises here!. Only the best salon in Syracuse! Everyone is highly educated and I never see anything other then perfection come from all the girls! Good job ladies, keep up the good work. Often immatated, never duplicated. Review below is totally off key, you can see how she left a fake comment as you can check her previous one to another salon.

YUCK. I too came to this salon based on the reviews, now I believe that they are all fake. I wanted some natural looking highlights. They gave me some girl who did not know anything about foiling. I came out of there looking like a skunk. I had these thick, chunky orange stripes going through my hair. I had to pay again somewhere else to have it fixed. I will never go to Liz Lanza's again. Aweful.

Good experience, no complaints. After searching for a salon on line I chose Liz Lanza's. Once I called for an appointment it was suggested I see Kymi because I had thick, curly hair. I wanted a short cut (over 4 inches cut off) and the cut I received is quite cute. I have no complaints. Kymi was very interested in making sure I liked my hair style and the way it was cut.

(I am multiracial with slightly curly, SUPER THICK, but not coarse hair.)

Wasn't that wonderful. I'm fairly new to this area and decided to depend on reviews to find a good salon. First off they gave me a woman who they said knew about color. Nothing could have been further from the truth! She didn't even try to match the color to skin tone etc. I came out of there with a lot less money in my pocket and colored hair that everyone said looked awful. They also need to clean the place up! Even though it looked stylish, it was dusty and hair was everywhere on the floor. I'll never return.

umm... dont believe everything you read. sooo, where do I begin??? Well I went to this salon because I read all these great reviews about this sooooo called wonderful stylist named jillaine. Not true at all!!!! she made my hair look 100 times worse than I started. she turned my highlights BRASSY, which is definetly not what I had asked for. I had to go back to my old hair dresser to get them fixed. Just goes to show that if its not broken, dont try to fix it. I should have never strayed, I was just looking for a new fresh look.. So I guess what Im trying to say is.... dont believe everything you read.

Best Colorist in Syracuse. I saw this woman and loved her hair and asked her where she went. She said to JILLAIN at Liz Lanza's. Thought I would give her a try and am SO GLAD I did! I have very dark hair, almost black and it seems that everytime I get hilights it seems to turn some shade of orange. It is my biggest hair fear. Well, not this time. They were a beautiful shade of chocolate brown which looks amazing against my dark hair. Not too drastic, but enough to see. PERFECT!!!!!! I found my hair goddess. You should go see her if you want the best color in town.

Kymi is fantastic!. Kymi was referred to me by a friend several years ago and I couldn't be happier having her as my stylist. When she colors my hair, it looks so natural that no one knows it isn't my 'real' color!

She does such a great job that my husband and daughter go to her, too.

If you're looking for someone who is very professional and talented, ask for Kymi at Liz Lanz'a.

She knows her HAIR. I had Jillaine do my hair last week for the first time. She came highly recommended by a close friend. Previously my hair was red and I wanted to get rid of it and lighten it up a bit. She made me a beautiful golden, copper brown with subtle caramel hi-lites. I love it! All of my friends and family love it too. She listens to details and really makes you feel comfortable. Trust is hard to come by when someone is doing your hair, but I completely trust her with mine. I will recommend everyone go and see her.

Great Place 4 Great Hair. I would like to say that I was one of Jillain's first clients right out of beauty school. I have always loved my hair. I have been every color over the rainbow. She's always a pleasure and always giving me something different and coming back for more! I see that she's pleasing others too in response to all her awesome reviews. Keep doing what you do girl! See you in a couple weeks.
