fOR THE BEST IN ITALIAN FOOD.
having read other negative reviews, 4 of us decided to try Joey's ourselves last night. Thank God we did NOT listen to those writers!!!
The food was excellent, probaly the best Italian food we have ever had, including food in Italy. The waitress was amazing both in talk and service! I highley recommand this restaurant to everyone!
We will definitely be back many more times!!!!!!
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why would anyone go here?. Just plain awful!!! Just plain awful!!! Just plain awful!!! Just plain awful!!! Just plain awful!!! Just plain awful!!! Just plain awful!!! Just plain awful!!! Just plain awful!!!
Complacent. The service at Joey's has always been top notch, but the food seems to be going down in quality. I used to love downstairs at Joey's, but I really don't bother anymore. I'll still head upstairs for dinner, but only if I'm looking for something cheap and easy. While they used to be almost as good as Antonio's, they're heading the way of the Olive Garden.
lost their mojo.
It seems like the glowing reviews of this place were written by the owners or the employees. I had the occasion to dine at Joey's last Wednesday night. While the atmosphere and service were nice and attentive respectively, the kitchen seems to have lsot its mojo. I was with a party of 8 and we ordered many appetizers, desserts, and entrees. Out of all the items I tasted that evening, the best all around was the bread and the ice cream. There were few other bright spots. The caesar salad was serviceable. I ordered veal and shrimp alfredo as an entree which sounded great but actually was almost inedible. The shrimp were small and flavorless, the veal seemed to have been steamed instead of sauteed, and the fettucini noodles were more like overcooked egg noodles.
The appetizers weren't much better, the fried calamari was a little rubbery (even for squid) and the tomato sauce was way too sour. The calamari steak was better but too much lemon and cheese masked any squid flavor, the stuffed mushrooms tasted burnt, and the mussels were microscopic. I hope my experience was out of the norm and the main chef was off that night. The restaurant has a lot of potential but missed the mark on too many points to be awarded more than two stars, especially for the price. May try it again if someone else is buying.
amazing. goddd i love my family!! yes my uncles restaurant is amazing!!! and the bread! OMG! I absolutely love everything about it here!!
Joey's.
I used to complain about having to go to Syracuse.
Now I can't wait to go because of this resturant. From beginning to end the meal and service was outstanding. I tell EVERYONE about Joey's and once you have eaten there you will too! Not to mention we normally get there after 9:00pm and it is still great!

This is the finest "unknown" or unrated restaurant in the Northeast. Everything served is done to perfection and I've often traveled quite some distance out of my way to dine at Joey's.
You will not find a finer filet mignon anywhere, even at the best steak houses. Sauces are to die for and the service is outstanding.
I always eat downstairs because I love the bar and atmosphere.
