WELL PLEASED 'OUT OF TOWNER'...........
I could not have asked for any better customer service. I had purchased jackets @ the NYS Fair as I do every year from SW....Realized days later that I had purchased them too small. I called SW and
spoke to a young man who was very pleasant. He advised me to wait until the fair ended, then come into the store to see if they had the sizes I needed.
When I went into the store Dave took care of me and gave me the run of the racks to see what I needed. I found larger sizes & he switched them with no questions asked. I had my receipt but he never asked to see it. My experience was very pleasant in dealing with Dave and his staff.…
No, not Sour Grapes. I'm not a disgruntled former employee or a competitor of the store. I just had a bad experience at Shirt World during Christmas 2010. I live in San Diego and was back in 'Cuse visiting family for the Holidays. I needed to stock up on Cuse gear and had picked out a shirt for my wife at Shirt World. I waited in line behind another guy while DAVE completed the sale. DAVE fielded 2 - 3 phone calls while helping the customer in front of me. We both exchanged a frustrated look, but we're just going to deal with it. When it came my turn, Dave asked me to "hang on about 2 minutes" and proceeded to place another call. So I decided to leave and go to Manny's instead - only to be followed out of the store by a shouting DAVE hurling insults at me. He told me to "have a nice life" among other things as I walked down the block. Yikes.…
Sour Grapes?. Wow ! I have been dealing with Dave and his family for MANY years and while I think some stuff is overpriced, I have never found any discrepancies on my receipts, or seen any evidence of shady dealings. Some of these reviews sound like they were written by disgruntled former employees. Dave is a former kicker for the Orange and had a xouple of "cups of coffee" in the NFL and I think he still feels a closeness to the program, which is why he freely talks about teams with customers. MStreet is a pain most of the time, but will still check things out at Shirt World when on the hill.…
I'm an old worker, I've seen the pro's and con's.
ok, I agree mostly with all the other reviews... and, I know that you don't know what was actually going on with the staff, but we really didn't know what was going on at the cash registers, we
weren't allowed anywhere near them, it was either Dave, his wife, or his parents (who i do believe have been screwed over once or twice by him) even the manager when i was working there wasn't really allowed to work the cash register too many times
see the thing is, he changes prices on deals every 15 mins throughout the day, nothing stays the same, so what we're telling people at the racks, really does change as it moves towards the registers...
and he holds onto any penny he can... one day the manager worked up like 12 hours overtime on a salary pay and instead of paying her the extra money he jsut gave her an extra day off, which sucked enough because it ended up on a friday and she only got sundays and wednesdays off
he jipped me off a lot, and most of the staff there are college or highschool kids working under the counter so they can't complain about him cutting them
but, on a lighter note, he does sometimes come up with really good deals, he does have some good quality clothing, and a lot more choices than Manny's or whatever the other store around that area is
if you really want to buy something from him, buy it from the shops he opens up in the New York State Fair, everything is dropped in prices and compared to the store prices which he doesn't drop while the Fair is going on, they're about $15 on average dropped... just make sure you have cash on you, it gets you around the credit card problem
and also comment to him about his awesome football career, he used to be a kicker on the SU football team then went on to NHL, get him talking about that and show that you're genuinely interested in it and he might give you another deal…
Dave is white trash. Dave, the owner of this store runs the biggest scam in all of Syracuse. This guy would rip off his own mother. Anytime you go in to buy an item from this store, Dave or a sales associate will talk to about the Syracuse game to try to distract you. Once he has done so, he will rip off the price tag or switch the item for a different one. He will mark up the price and not give you a receipt. This way you will have no proof that he has done anything wrong. If you are an consumer of Syracuse apparel do not shop at this store and please refer to the better business bureau with any wrong doing.…
