Entrees need better description. Heard lots of good things about this place. Went a few weeks ago with husband and my younger sister. We are not fussy eaters but I don't eat meat. The menu gives virtually no description of how the items are prepared. We asked our waitress who spoke very little English. We were still confused - especially about the two different menus that looked the same. The hostess/owner was a little more helpful, but not much. We each ordered 3 different appetizers and 3 different entrees. None of us cared for what we had - mainly because we weren't sure what we ordered! They need someone to annotate the menu items so that you know what you are ordering. I don't think I'll go back. (They were very nice and the place was mostly filled.)

Awesome food! Especially good for vegetarians.. China Road has the most vegetarian options of any restaurant in Syracuse, and the food is addictively good. The vegetarian beef, pork, and chicken are tasty recreations of the real thing. I'd especially recommend the vegetarian hot and sour soup for two, and also the eggplant in garlic sauce and the pea greens. Anything with the vegetarian meats is also delicious. The atmosphere is unfortunately not very romantic but it has a funky, run down, den-like ambiance. Highly recommended!
